CHRISTMAS IN CANVAS



I love Christmas.  Every year I say to myself no more Christmas ornaments and then I

find myself being called to create something new because someone challenged me.  I

hear a word and an image comes to my mind.  I see a stitch that says I will look great

as.... a thread that just has to be stitched, or a bead or crystal that just says "pick me"!  I

love the colours, the lights and the smells of Christmas.  Every ornament and book are

my favourites!    As I hang the ornaments from years before, I remember people, the

music, concerts, games, and the fun we had on sleigh rides with each and every one.


I hope you too, enjoy the love and beauty that Christmas brings.  These are the items

that will last forever, because we use them for a short time and carefully store them away

for the following year.  They make excellent gifts and traditions are born!!


NANCY'S NOEL

ornaments 40 mesh by 40 mesh (2 1/4"

square) worked on #18 mono canvas,

white.  Each ornament features a

challenging stitch such as the large-Four

Way Queen Stitch, a unique Waffle Stitch,

a beautiful Walneto Stitch all worked in

white or ecru and accented in silver, gold

or bronze metallic.  Crystals and beads

shimmer on the tree.

Worked on #18 count canvas, they are 40

by 40 mesh (2 1/4" square) worked in

either Trebizond Silk or Perle Cottons in

Mulberry and Ponderosa Green. Each

ornament features Blackwork plus various

Canvaswork stitches and a delightful Lacy

Binding Stitch including beads and crystals!

GLIMMERING TRIO


Three enchanting three-sided ornaments

worked in rich reds, greens and golds. They

are worked on Victorian Green #18 Mono

canvas and are approximately 40 by 40

mesh or (2 1/4" by 2 1/4 by 2/14). A large

variety of threads, stitches and beads.  The

ornaments could be worked two-sided as

well.  The three sided-ones just give a little

more movement to the ornament.


They look excellent in Royal blue, white and

silver.  Do not be afraid to change the

colours to please yourself.
